Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Teaming on Movie for First Time Since ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’

From Variety: “Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have chosen to work on a film together for the first time in a decade, launching development on an untitled script that she has written.

It’s not yet clear who will act, produce or direct the project.

The duo have acted together on only one other film — 2005′s action comedy “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” which grossed nearly $500 million worldwide — but have remained busy in subsequent years.

Pitt won a best picture Oscar as a producer on “12 Years a Slave” through his Plan B production company this year and will be seen next in Sony’s World War II actioner “Fury,” opening in November. Plan B signed a first-look deal with New Regency earlier this year after departing from its longtime home of Paramount.

Jolie directed and produced the World War II drama “Unbroken,” which Universal will open on Christmas.

The couple have six children and have generally avoided working on movies at the same time.”

New Regency Taps Brad Pitt, David Michod To Tell Gen. Stanley McChrystal Afghan Story ‘The Operators’

From Deadline: “Animal Kingdom helmer David Michôd will write and direct The Operators, which will be developed as a star vehicle for Brad Pitt. The project’s backed by Plan B, New Regency and RatPac Entertainment, and it was announced by Brad Weston, New Regency’s president and CEO. Pitt will produce along with his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.

Based on the Michael Hastings book, The Operators focuses on the rise and fall of Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the commanding general of international and U.S. forces in Afghanistan. It portrays the backrooms and politics behind the war, and the high-stake maneuvers and the political firestorm that shook the country.

New Regency and RatPac made a multi-year producing partnership with Pitt’s Plan B late last year after Regency teamed with Plan B on the Best Picture Oscar winner 12 Years A Slave. Michôd is repped by UTA and attorney Alan Wertheimer, Pitt and Plan B by CAA and Brillstein.”

Brad Pitt Enlists in WWII Romantic Thriller

From Variety: “Brad Pitt is in early talks to star in an untitled World War II romantic thriller penned by Steven Knight.

No director or distributor are attached to the project and plot details are unknown but Pitt is obviously interested in that period in history (“Inglourious Basterds” and the upcoming Sony WWII pic “Fury”).

Graham King will produce the project through his GK Films banner.

Pitt, 50, can be seen next opposite Shia LaBeouf and Logan Lerman in “Fury,” which opens Nov. 14. The WWII tank drama, directed by David Ayer (“End of Watch”), tells the story of a battle-hardened army sergeant (Pitt) and his five-man crew on a deadly mission in Nazi Germany.”

Vanity Fair: The 20th Annual Hollywood Issue – March 2014

Brad features in Vanity Fair’s ‘The 20th Annual Hollywood Issue’ – March 2014:

“To celebrate Vanity Fair’s 20th annual Hollywood Issue, the magazine recruited renowned artist Chuck Close to photograph 20 actors and directors, including Robert De Niro, Kate Winslet and Martin Scorsese. For the stripped-down close-ups, he used a large-format, 20-by-24-inch Polaroid camera—of which there are only six in the world—and had but one request: “You come as you are. No makeup, no hair, no wardrobe. And if they were willing, we did it.”
